Chritmas Card Time

Christmas is just over a month away, and boy am I excited. Last year we were a little late with the reindeer antlers for the pup to get them out on our Christmas cards. So, this year we are preparing early, and we are planning to take our "family" photos soon. Some of my favorite photo cards from last Christmas were from Shutterfly.com, so my plan was to get our cards from them this year. Then, I saw this promo for bloggers to receive 50 free holiday cards, and the deal was sealed.

Shutterfly has a great selection of holiday cards, along with bunches of other photo gifts like calendars and stationary.

My favorite part is the Chirstmas photo cards, though. Shutterfly offers a wide variety of holiday card styles. No matter whether you like simple classic cards, are highly traditional, or just like somthing fun and funky, Shutterfly has something for you!

Another New Puppy Uncle!

As I have said before in these posts, my family is hooked on Labrador Retrievers! My parents have had 4, and their latest, Beau, they had for 9 years. He was a great dog, but about 8 months ago he got run over. It has taken a while to heal, and he is still missed. However, my mom thought that she was ready for another, so for Christmas we all decided to get her a puppy. This time she thought she wanted a yellow lab instead of black like all of their previous dogs. We looked for a bit, found some really good looking dogs, and went to see the pups. I was instantly in love. There were 3 left from a litter of 7, and all were males. The biggest was really good looking, but he was really shy and reserved. The smallest one was just that, small. But, the middle one was just right. He was a really good looking puppy, and he was very social! I knew that he was the one!! So, we bought him, and about 2 weeks later my parents got to go pick him up. She named him Trooper, and he is super cute and fun. However, it is pretty funny to watch the parents with a puppy again. I think that they have forgotten just what it is like to have a little furry bundle of joy underfoot! After all it has been 9 or 10 years since they have had one.

Anyway, this weekend all of the family was home for Christmas, and the grand kids and the grand puppy met their new Uncle Trooper. I know that Bauer just can't wait for little Trooper to grow up, so they can play rough!

Thanksgiving Swim

We went Northeastern Oklahoma for family Thanksgiving, and lots of fun. While we were there the weather was nice, so we decided to get Bauer out and about and go to the lake for some water fun. Bauer always loves the water, but he is still a little unsure about actually swimming. He is more of a bobber, and when it gets over his head he generally heads back to shore. So, he was out in the water and Kaleb had crossed and was calling him to the shore on the other side. Bauer decided to go a different route than where Kaleb had tried to lead him. The water was over his head and he was in the middle of the water. At first he panicked and got up next to a little , so he just went for it. He was kind of scared which we didn't like, and Kaleb could see his legs flaling all out of sink. But, nonetheless, he leveled out and swam across!! He swam on Thanksgiving Day! It was awesome, and I can't wait until the weather is warmer and we can be in the water with him swimming!

Puppy Uncle

The little brown dog is no longer the newest addition to the family. His Grammy and Grampy just brought home their new Austrailian Shepard puppy, Boo. He is quite a little bundle of fuzz... and he actually looks like a little panda. Now Grammy and Grampy's house has two other dogs to play with, Uncle Duece and Uncle Boo! Super fun!

Pictures to follow!

The Escapades of a Little Brown Dog!

Bauer is growing so fast, and as he grows we are definitely noticing some stages. Right now he is just so funny and full of himself that I had to post about it. In the past 24 hours he has just been hilarious.

It all started a couple evenings ago when Kaleb had taken him to the office in the afternoon to play with his uncle Duece. After work they went to visit Grammy and after many tasty treats and a trip to play in the pond, they were ready to come home. Kaleb called for Bauer to come and headed for the door. Bauer forgot to notice that there was a glass door between him and the outdoors. After hitting the window with a thud he crumpled into a little pile and looked at Kaleb like, " What? How was I supposed to know there was a window there?"

Another daily goal of the little dog now is to sneak into the closet and grab a flip flop and discretely run into the living room to use it as a chew toy without getting caught. The problem is that the little cocky puppy struts around like a banty rooster when he has stolen something he is not supposed to have. It makes it pretty hard not to notice when he goes strutting by like, "Look at me and what I did!" Anyway last night as we were getting ready to go out Bauer had been hanging out in the bathroom with us, but in his boredom decided to go into the living room to play. To our surprise, when Kaleb went to get his shoes he realized that one was missing. he had successfully snuck passed both of us on his stealth flip flop mission! Victory was his! But it was pretty short lived, and no damage was done.

That is only a couple of his crazy antics, but everyday he tries something new and mischievous.
